Eredeti a Doterra, amit a VoniaStore-on vásárolok?

Is the doTERRA I buy from VoniaStore original?

Recently, several customers have asked why some doTERRA products may show small differences compared with a previous purchase, or why certain LOT or item numbers cannot be found on the Source To You website.

We would like to explain transparently how doTERRA's quality-control system works and also confirm that our online store sells only genuine doTERRA products.

You can find customer reviews on our Hungarian website.

As an official doTERRA reseller, we sell only genuine products

The doTERRA products available from us:

  • come from official sourcing channels,
  • arrive in factory-sealed, unopened packaging,
  • have an original LOT/batch identifier,
  • comply with doTERRA's European distribution requirements.

Authenticity and our customers' trust are extremely important to us, which is why we sell only products of verified origin.

Why can Source To You say “not found”?

To clarify this question, we contacted doTERRA customer service directly.

According to doTERRA, the Source To You database is not yet complete, so the LOT or item number of some genuine products may not appear in the system.

Based on doTERRA's response:

  • many products manufactured in Europe are not yet listed in the database,
  • as a result, the system may sometimes display “not found” or “invalid code”,
  • the company is continuously uploading new GC reports.

doTERRA also emphasized that most oils made for the European market end with the letter “Y”, which may differ from the markings used in other markets.

This therefore points to the current limitations of the database, not to a lack of product authenticity.

Why can there be differences between products?

If you notice a change in the scent or perceived effectiveness of a product purchased from us, or a minor difference compared with earlier packaging — for example a matte rather than glossy finish or a different cap — there may be several natural or manufacturing-related reasons.

Essential oils are natural plant extracts, so small natural differences can occur between production batches.

The composition of plants is influenced by many factors:

  • weather,
  • growing region,
  • harvest year,
  • amount of rainfall,
  • harvest time,
  • distillation conditions.

Because of this, slight differences may occur in:

  • the intensity of the scent,
  • the shade of colour,
  • the density of the oil,
  • or the perceived strength.

doTERRA may also occasionally change small details on packaging, labels, caps or production markings because of different markets, manufacturing locations or regulatory requirements.

These changes alone do not indicate that the product is not genuine.

Why are not all ingredients and exact ratios public?

Some doTERRA products — especially essential-oil blends — are protected formulas.

According to the company's official information:

  • the complete chemical composition of blends is not public in every case,
  • therefore a complete GC report is not available for every product,
  • however, test results for the main component oils are often available.

This is a generally accepted practice in the aromatherapy and essential-oil industry.

What is a GC report?

GC (Gas Chromatography) is a laboratory testing method used to analyse the composition and purity of essential oils.

The purpose of the test includes:

  • identifying the components,
  • checking purity,
  • screening for possible contamination or adulteration.

doTERRA uses this quality-control system for its products worldwide.

Overall, Source To You is a very useful website, but for the European market it contains only information that has already been uploaded to the database. This does not apply to oil blends, only to single oils.

How is the LOT number structured?

Most batch numbers consist of 6 digits followed by a letter (YYJJJBC).

  • The first 2 digits indicate the year.
  • The next 3 digits indicate the day on which the oil was manufactured according to the Julian calendar. The Julian calendar assigns the corresponding sequential number of the year to each date.
  • The 6th digit indicates the batch of the day or the bottling date.
  • Finally, the letter indicates the market for which the oil was produced.

Authenticity is a core value for us

We know that the essential-oil market contains many products of uncertain origin or counterfeit products, so our customers' trust and full transparency are especially important to us.

If you have any questions about a product, our customer service team will be happy to help: info@voniastore.com.
